Puzzlemania!

So I am not sure how much I like to admit the dorky side of me, but lately I have been on a huge puzzle kick! Shad got me two Disney puzzles for Christmas, and for those of you who know how much I LOVE Disney and puzzles, know that this was a perfect gift! But it didn't stop there, I became addicted and couldn't stop, so this has become my winter entertainment. There's not much to do around here in the Winter, while Shad's in school...Don't judge me! This is what I've done lately:

This one I actually did back in October, but I liked it, and it was really hard! A little memory of Salt Lake.

This one I liked so much, we hung it up in our dining room. I heart Mickey and Minnie!

This Charlie Brown one was also ridiculously hard, its one of those photo mosaics, so it plays with your mind.

Random trip to Auburn!

So Shad and I being the crazy kids we are had a three day weekend together this past weekend, and thought of things to do. Finally on Friday morning/afternoon, we decided "Why not drive to Seattle (hometown: Auburn)!? And visit the Fam!" It's my dad's birthday this week and Martin Luther King Day, it all seemed like good excuses to go! So we rearranged our weekend schedules, and packed up the volvo and left on our way. We didn't tell anyone we were coming, and we got there about 11 PM on Friday night... I called my dad and told him to look out the window and there we were! It was a fun surprise, I don't think my dad really believed me at first, and was a little shocked to be surprised at 11 at night. But it ended up being a fun/lazy trip. We just hang out with my parents and went shopping. Nothing too exciting. My dad bought himself an birthday gift, a big flat screen LCD TV, with blue ray player! So we undoubtedly played with that ALL weekend. We watched all kinds of movies, and tried to figure out all its ins and outs. That thing is slick! I must say that we are definitely jealous, and now our TV seems so boring! We also went to stake conference at my home stake so I got to see lots of people that I haven't seen for a few years now, or at least since our wedding! Then my mom taught me how to make my FAVORITE food in the whole wide world: Vegetarian Lasagna, and OH man, it is AMAZING. AMAZING! This awesome dish I have been talking about since before Shad and I were married, and Shad finally got to indulge in its greatness. He said it definitely lived up to its hype... so delicious. Finally we ended the week on Monday by going out to dinner and dessert with Shad's sister and Brother-in-law, Heidi and Steven. It was so fun to go out with them. We're glad they made the time to see us!! We so enjoyed our little weekend away! Thankfully the weather was great, and the opportunity presented itself! Anything for a nice mini-vacation... right!?

Better late than never!?

Well, I feel like it has been SO long since i've posted anything! And it feels weird! So although nothing new is going on, I thought I'd post some pictures of Christmas. I know it's a little late, but oh man, we have been just so busy lately. Well, i guess, I've been busy lately... Shad has been enjoying his nice LONG vacation from school. And it has been wonderful having him around, he's such a good hubby. I like non-law school Shad!! Work has been absolutely crazy for me, and the snow has been CRAZY here, making everything EXTRA difficult, plus the holidays just take some time getting over! :) So I feel like now we have officially re-cooperated from everything.  Phew! But we had a GREAT time over the holidays. We were able to go home to Seattle for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It was a short trip, but it was wonderful. I hadn't spent a Christmas at home for three years! Way TOO long!  We did all our family traditions, we had our annual talent show on Christmas Eve, and later that night, on Christmas Eve, we opened all our presents, and Christmas Day we had TONS of people over and had a HUGE Christmas dinner with delicious food. It was perfect! Shad and I were spoiled, we got tons of fun presents, and, like always, my parents are just too good for us! We were so blessed to be able to get over to Seattle to spend time with friends and family, with the weather being so crazy, we just lucked out. Plus we are just so grateful for family and each other, even though we don't have a lot... it sure feels like we certainly have everything we need and then some! So here are some pictures of our wonderful Holiday!

The traditional family pictures:

I got to see my BFF (for life!!) Kambria! I just miss this girl so much!

This is my family performing a nice Holiday poem for everyone before our Christmas dinner.

Here are the Christmas guests, and festivities!

This year our annual talent show consisted of  doing an "art project" so Shad and I decided to draw some of our favorite covers. Shad drew the cover of the video game Lego Indiana Jones, and I drew the cover of 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'! That's right, we did NOT trace these! Who knew we had secret hidden drawing talent!

Here are all the art projects displayed... we are just a talented bunch!
